Adams Wins Regionals for Second Time in Career

Jeter Adams of Riley County added another impressive accomplishment to his résumé this past weekend, capturing the regional title at the Regional Meet in Norton.

Adams crossed the finish line in 16:07, finishing approximately 15 seconds ahead of the runner-up. The performance also marked his fastest time of the season.

The regional championship was Adams' second career regional title. He also recently claimed his second Big East League championship, continuing a strong stretch of performances over the past few weeks.

Through seven meets this season, Adams has been remarkably consistent, never finishing lower than fourth. He has won three meets and finished second in three others, establishing himself as one of the area's top runners.

Adams has placed at the state meet twice in his career and will look to make it three this weekend as he competes for another strong finish at the state meet.

Head coach Zachary Rieck: "Jeter has been a leader of this team for the past couple years and has really taken ownership of that role this year. Jeter has been so open to coaching and is one of the most determined student-athletes that I have had the opportunity to coach in my career. I cannot say enough good things about who he is as a both an athlete and competitor as well as who he is as an individual and his carries himself."
