Troy sophomore Ella Grable is making a name for herself among Kansas’ top distance runners, continuing to raise the bar with each race and establish new milestones for the Troy cross country program. Her latest performance was another standout effort, as she delivered a record-setting run that added two more accomplishments to an already impressive season.

Grable claimed the individual Northeast Kansas League (NEKL) championship last week, crossing the finish line in 20:23. Her time not only secured the league title but also broke her own Troy High School record and established a new NEKL meet record. By rewriting the record books on both fronts, Grable demonstrated just how far she has progressed and how much of an impact she is making in her sophomore season.

Her success is a continuation of the momentum she built last fall. As a freshman, Grable placed 19th at the Class 1A state cross country meet, gaining valuable experience against some of the best runners in the state. That performance provided a strong foundation for her continued development, and she has returned this season with even greater results.

Now, Grable has emerged as one of the leading competitors in Class 1A, ranking among the top five runners in the classification. Her latest record-breaking performance and NEKL championship are further evidence of her growth and consistency throughout the season.

With her sophomore campaign already marked by a league title and multiple records, Grable continues to set new standards for herself and Troy cross country. As she prepares for the challenges ahead, she has established herself as a runner to watch, building on last season’s state-meet experience while continuing to prove that she belongs among the best in Class 1A.
