Miller Reaches 1,000 Career Kills as Royal Valley Captures Jeff West Tournament Title

Royal Valley's KiWe Miller surpassed 1,000 career kills on Saturday as the Panthers won the Jefferson West Tournament. 

Royal Valley swept Valley Falls, Santa Fe Trail, and Pleasant Ridge in pool play before defeating St. Marys in the semifinals (25-11, 25-21) & Jefferson West in the title match (22-25, 25-15, 25-23). 

On Saturday, KiWe had a total of 61 kills with a .356 hitting percentage while also adding 43 digs on the day. Post tournament, the career kill total is at 1,043. 

Miller is a tremendous multi-sport athlete with honors and records dating back to even her middle school days at Royal Valley. 

Last season, KiWe earned third team all-league during the basketball season, and she also surpassed 200 career strikeouts inside the circle during the softball season last spring. 

The Panthers are 12-1 on the season, with their only loss being a close couple of sets against Centralia, who's one of the top teams in the state.
