Linn defeats Centralia in three sets, clinches TVL regular season title

Volleyball is an awesome sport, on Tuesday it was in full effect, as two of the best teams in 1A-D1 played a double dual.

Linn and Centralia were both undefeated going into the TVL Tournament this past Saturday. They had yet to play each other, but they did battle in the tournament championship. Both of these teams were runner-up at the state tournament the past season in their respective classes. Centralia took the tournament championship in three sets, 25-21, 22-25, 25-17.

Fast forward to Tuesday, this time they would play twice, the first one being for the regular season Twin Valley League Championship, once more did it go three sets, with Linn taking it home this time, 25-21, 14-25, 25-22.

The Bulldogs finish their TVL slate a perfect 10-0, winning the title outright. Centralia finished 2nd at 9-1.

In the game that didn't count for league, for a third time, the two teams exhausted all the possible sets, Centralia took this one, 25-23, 19-25, 25-23. So three rounds in, Panthers take a 2-1 lead through 9 sets.

Linn moved up in the classification, from 1A-D2 to 1A-D1, so in the KVA rankings, the Panthers have been 1st all year, with the Bulldogs, who were the consistent #1 in D2, sliding into #2 in D1.

It seems like these two are on a collision course to match up for a fourth and final time in the state title game in Salina. We will know for sure in a couple of weeks, but all it does is confirm how great a sport volleyball is.
