Holton volleyball wins competitive Big East League Title

On Thursday, October 8th, the Holton Wildcats and Riley Couny Falcons met in Hiawatha for the league title. Both teams came into the matchup, 8-1 in a very good Big East League. Going into the matchup, Riley County's only league loss was to Silver Lake in 3 sets. Holton's only loss was to Nemaha Central in 3 sets.

Holton won the match in straight sets, 25-23, 25-16. It was another big win for the Holton volleyball team, who has won the Rossville Tournament and the Wamego Tournament as well.

Silver Lake, who was 8-1 going into the night, with their lone league loss being to Holton, loss in 3 sets to Perry-Lecompton. So it's an outright title win for the Wildcats. It's also their first league title in volleyball since 2019.

The Wildcats are 24-8 on the season, and in a good position to host their regional and potentially substate volleyball contests. They are trying to get to the state tournament for the 5th straight year.

The Wildcats play in the Sabetha Invitational this Saturday to wrap up their regular season schedule.
