Holton Volleyball Wins Wamego Tournament

The Holton volleyball team won the Wamego Tournament Championship on Saturday getting through a loaded field in the process. 

The Wildcats went 2-1 in pool play with wins over Circle and Clearwater with the lone loss against Nemaha Central. They would defeat Riley County 27-25, 25-22 in the semifinals, and would follow that up with a 25-14, 25-17 win over Rock Creek in the championship match. 

Riley County finished the day in third place going 3-0 in pool play with wins over Wamego, Royal Valley, and Rock Creek. The Falcons lost to Holton in the semifinals and followed that with a 25-19, 23-25, 25-23 victory over Nemaha Central in the third place match. 

With that loss for NC against the Falcons, that secured the Thunder the fourth place finish. NC went 2-1 in pool play defeating Clearwater and Holton before falling to Rock Creek in three sets in the semifinals. 

Royal Valley was also competing as they went 1-2 in pool play with their win coming against Wamego. The Panthers would follow with a 18-25, 25-19, 17-25 loss to Circle in the fifth place match.
