Hanover Volleyball Wins Axtell Tournament

The Hanover volleyball team went a perfect 5-0 on Saturday to capture the Axtell Tournament Championship. 

The Wildcats defeated Axtell, Sacred Heart, Valley Heights, and Frankfort in pool play while not dropping a single set in the process. In the championship, Hanover would take down Johnson-Brock. 

Valley Heights would finish the tournament in third place. The Mustangs' only loss in pool play was against Hanover as they beat Axtell, Sacred Heart, and Frankfort. In the third place match, Valley Heights defeated St. Johns-Tipton 25-18, 25-14. 

Maur Hill-Mount Academy would finish the tournament in fifth place. The Ravens went 2-2 in pool play with wins over Diller-Odell and Washington County with losses against Johnson-Brock and St. Johns-Tipton. Maur Hill would take down Sacred Heart in the fifth place match. 

The host squad in Axtell finished the tournament in seventh place. Axtell's lone win in pool play came against Frankfort and they would close the tourney with a win over Diller-Odell 25-18, 18-25, 25-13. 

The ninth place match went to Washington County as they defeated Frankfort 25-7, 26-24.
