Troy outlasts Frankfort in back-and-forth contest

The Troy Trojans took the long bus ride to Frankfort, Kansas and defeated the Wildcats 46-32 to open district play. 

The game started with a couple of defensive stops for each team, but with Frankfort on the Troy side of the field, on 4th and short, Riley Grable picked off a pass and went the other way for a 50-yard pick six, to put the Trojans up 6-0. 

Frankfort repsonded putting together a long drive, resulting in a short TD run for Henry Ketter to tie the game at 6. Troy got a short rushing TD from star quarterback Kaston Jasper from 5-yards out to regain the lead 14-6. Colten Caffrey threw a touchdown pass to Kale Koch to make it 14-12. Jasper threw a touchdown to Tucker Jarrett to put the Trojans back up 8, but one more time, right before half, Frankfort got back in the end zone, with a 16-yard TD pass to Kyler Parthemer. 20-18 Troy led at halftime. 

Frankfort got the ball out of the break, and on that kick off, Henry Ketter fended off multiple bodies, to break away for a 65-yard kick return touchdown to put Frankfort in front 24-20. After a couple of defensive stops both ways, Troy's offense refound their groove, scoring on their next 4 drives. TD passes to Jarrett and Colt Jensen, as well as a pair of TD runs from Bryer Ferris. Troy got up as big as 40-24, Frankfort did get it to 40-32, but the Trojans held them off, 46-32. 

Kaston Jasper was the Player of the Game, passing for 267 yards and 3 touchdowns, rushing for a score as well. Colt Jensen had over 170 total yards and a touchdown. Riley Grable had a pair of interceptions for the Trojans as well. 

In the losing effort, Colten Caffrey threw for 182 yards and two touchdowns, running for a score as well. Henry Ketter ran for 69 yards and a score, as well as the kick return TD. 

Troy (4-0, 1-0 in district) travels to Axtell next week. Frankfort (3-1, 0-1 in district) travels to Hanover next week.
