Centralia dominates the field, winning the Hiawatha Invitational

The Centralia Panthers showed why they are the number 1 team in Class 1A Division 1 on Saturday, running through any team that stepped in their path. They didn't drop a set all day, and have only lost one set all year, the very first one they played this year against Heritage Christian. The Panthers have won 36 straight sets. 

Centralia swept Riverside, Doniphan West, Atchison and Troy in pool play. The beat Hiawatha in two sets in the semifinals, and then in a battle of unbeatens in the championship game, handled Jefferson County North, 25-19 and 25-13. 

JCN did finish 2nd on the day, going 5-1. Beating Jackson Heights in 3 sets, sweeping Horton, ACCHS, Hiawatha and Doniphan West before dropping to the Panthers in the title game. 

Doniphan West got 3rd, going 4-2 on the day, beating Troy, Atchison and Riverside in straight sets in pool play, however they were swept by Centralia, JCN beat them in the semis, but they bounced back, beating Hiawatha in three sets in the 3rd place game. 

The hosting Redhawks of Hiawatha, got 4th, finishing the day 3-3, beating Jackson Heights, Horton and ACCHS. 

ACCHS went 0-4 on the day. Atchison High went 0-4. Horton went 2-2. Jackson Heights went 1-3. Riverside went 1-3, and Troy went 2-2.
