Rossville Volleyball Opens Season with Runner-Up Finish at Wellsville Tournament

The Rossville volleyball team opened its 2026 season Saturday with a second-place finish at the Wellsville Tournament.

The Dawgs cruised through pool play with wins over Baldwin (25-22, 25-14), Prairie View (25-19, 26-24), and Burlington (25-14, 25-16).

Rossville followed with a semifinal victory over Humboldt (25-13, 25-15) before falling to host Wellsville in the championship match, 25-27, 25-19, 18-25.

The tournament also featured a milestone for sophomore setter Kenna Perine, who surpassed 1,000 career assists.

It was a strong start to the season for the Dawgs, who entered the year ranked No. 3 in Class 2A.
