Emma Hardwick & Breleigh Ebert
|
The Frankfort girls basketball team is back in the Class 1A-I State Tournament for a second straight season. Both Emma Hardwick and Breleigh Ebert were big in Sub-State wins over Washington County and Clifton-Clyde in the Championship game.
Breleigh tallied 25 points, eight rebounds, five steals, and four assists in the two games and was clutch from the free throw line hitting five of six in the fourth quarter of the Championship game.
Emma tallied 21 points, eight rebounds, seven steals, and was a perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line in the Championship game.
They both played lockdown defense and willed their team to back-to-back state tournament appearances. The defense held Washington County scoreless in two quarters and Clifton-Clyde to a 3-point first quarter.
The Wildcats finished third place at State last season and will look to improve on that finish in 2024. Frankfort’s first-round game in Colby will be Thursday, March 7th at 8:00 PM against St. John-Hudson.
