Osiris Unruh
|
Osiris Unruh has been named Athlete of the Week after continuing an outstanding senior season and cementing his place among the top wrestlers in the state.
Unruh currently owns a 22–1 record, with his only loss coming to Brody Chambers of Southeast of Saline, the defending 3-2-1A state champion. That highly competitive matchup lasted more than nine minutes and was ultimately decided by an ultimate tiebreaker, a result that underscored Unruh’s resilience, conditioning, and ability to compete at an elite level.
A state runner-up last season, Unruh has used that experience to fuel a strong final campaign, consistently handling high-level competition throughout the year. Beyond wrestling, Unruh has also secured his future, recently signing to play football at Pittsburg State University next fall. As the postseason approaches, he remains focused on finishing his high school wrestling career on a high note, making him a deserving choice for this week’s Athlete of the Week.
