Valley Heights quarterback Carson Spoonts has been dynamite this season for the 6-1 Mustangs. In their recent 64-26 win over Wabaunsee, Carson rushed for 181 yards and five touchdowns.

For the season, Carson leads the team with 801 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns while averaging nearly eight yards per carry. He’s added 398 passing yards and five more scores while completing nearly 60% of his throws.

Valley Heights rushed for 473 yards against Wabaunsee, and they average nearly 300 rushing yards per game.

The Mustangs have won six straight games since losing the opener to Centralia and have a chance to win a district title in the final game of the regular season against Smith Center.
