Clara Lindstrom of the Hiawatha basketball team had a fantastic week as she helped lead the Redhawks to the Hiawatha Invitational Tournament Title for the first time since 2016, beating previously undefeated Jackson Heights 51-40 in the title game in which Clara dropped 21 points and four three’s.
Clara averaged over 21 points per game in the tournament, including a 27 point performance in the semi-finals, hitting seven three’s and setting the school record for threes in a game. The team hit a total of 13 triples in that game, which was also a school record.
Overall, Clara scored 64 points, hit 13 of 27 three pointers and 15 of 18 from the free throw line in the tournament.
On the season, she’s averaging 15 points per game and hitting 40% from three-point range. The Redhawks are 12-1 and currently ranked #6 in Class 3A.
