Perry Lecompton Senior Football Players Leave Strong Legacy
Perry Lecompton Football Seniors

For four straight seasons the Perry Lecompton football team has tasted success on the football field winning seven games and a lot of that can be accredited to the strong 2020 senior class.

That senior class wrapped up their careers Saturday with a second straight runner-up finish in Class 3A falling to Andale for the second consecutive season which ended the Kaws season with a record of 11-2.

Those 11 wins mark the most in school history for Perry which was the second first for the Kaws who wrapped up their first ever Big 7 League title earlier this year.

The Perry defense was also the best in school history and featured 9 of the 12 seniors and would have had 11 of the 12 if it weren’t for injuries keeping those guys out of the state game on Saturday.

Records were broken throughout the season for the Kaws including Hayden Robb setting the school record for tackles in a career with 515 after a 139-tackle effort this year and 155 a year ago.

Fellow senior Thad Metcalfe had a huge year as well, finishing with over 2,700 all-purpose yards and 35 touchdowns while recording 113 tackles on defense.

Parker Stone, Dawson Williams, Caidon Quinlan and Hunter Hess also had big years at the receiver spot combining for over 1,500 yards and 15 touchdowns led by Stone who 590 yards and five scores.

Saturday was definitely not the way the Kaws wanted to end 2020, but after everything the Kaws went through this year a senior class that is going to be deeply missed still delivered an exciting effort and another magical season that will be remembered by Perry Lecompton fans for years to come.
