Pleasant Ridge Ram, Kelsey Carpenter Leads Rams to McLouth Invite Title
Kelsey Carpenter

Rolling, hitting a groove, finding consistency on the court all three things that can describe the Pleasant Ridge lady Rams on the basketball court right now as they have won 10-games in a row and went 3-0 last week to win the McLouth Invitational.

An integral part to that success has been the play of Ram senior, Kelsey Carpenter who has put together a solid senior year on the court. Carpenter led the charge for the Rams at the McLouth Invitational as she, along with two of her teammates were named to the All-Tournament team, while Kelsey picked up the tourney MVP honors for herself.

The Rams opened the McLouth Invitational with a 54-34 rout of KC Christian and the Ram senior had a team high 18 points to lead Pleasant Ridge. Carpenter followed that up with a 14 point performance against Maranatha in a 49-26 win, getting the Rams to Championship game in the tournament. In the tournament finals the Rams downed St. Mary 50-36 and Carpenter posted eight points. Over the course of the tournament the senior averaged a double-double with 13.3 ppg and 12 rpg.

On the year Carpenter is averaging nearly a double-double with 9.2 ppg and 9.3 rpg, while adding 2.9 bpg and 1.5 apg to fill the stat sheets.

On the year Pleasant Ridge sits at 11-1 on the season and seem to be hitting a stride on the court and playing well together, with Carpenter helping lead the way the Rams eye a shot at the NEKL and maybe more this season.
