Injuries can have a positive or negative affect on someone in sports it just depends on how that athlete comes back from it. An injury to his ACL during football season hasn’t deterred Valley Falls Dragon senior, Elijah Clark as he put in the work and was ready for the start of the baseball season and has come up big to start the year for the Dragons.

Clark is scorching hot at the plate for the Dragons who are off to a 6-0 start this season with two wins over ACCHS, Royal Valley and KC Christian each. Last week in the double header sweep of KC Christian Elijah pounded the ball for Valley Falls going 5-6 with 10 RBI’s and a pair of home runs in the 16-3 and 17-0 victories. In the 16-3 win Clark was a perfect 3-3 with his two home runs and posted seven RBI and followed that up with a 2-3 performance with three RBI in the 17-0 win.

On the season, Clark is a batting a blistering .526 with four home runs and 14 RBI’s, with a grand slam against Royal Valley this season.

The senior has been a four-year starter for the Dragons and last year was selected first team All-DVL on the diamond helping his team to an appearance in the 2-1A State tourney.

Dragons have won 15 or more games each of the last five years and qualified for the State tourney four of the last five years, including last year and a big part of the recent success has been senior, Elijah Clark who looks to continue his hot start to the season for the Dragons as they look to have another great baseball season.
