The Kansas Volleyball Association have released their preseason rankings for the 2025 season.
Starting in Class 4A, the Holton Wildcats will begin the season ranked #9. Holton finished last season 29-14 which included a trip to the state tournament in Hutchinson.
The final two teams in Class 3A last season will begin 2025 atop the ranks with defending champs Halstead at #1 followed by Nemaha Central at #2. The Thunder went 42-7 last season losing to the Dragons in straight sets in the state title match.
Two more Big East League squads join the top 10 ranks in 3A with Royal Valley at #6 and Silver Lake #8.
Just like NC, Royal Valley made the state tournament last season and won 32 games with the season ending in the pool play round in Hutch.
The Eagles went 32-10 last season with their season ending at the hands of Royal Valley in the Sub-State title match.
Valley Heights will once again be a contender in Class 2A as the Mustangs will start this season ranked #2 behind only Ellinwood. Valley Heights finished runner-up in the classification last season losing to Maranatha in straight sets in the title match and finishing with a record of 32-11.
Doniphan West and Rossville will begin the season ranked #9 and #10 respectively in 2A. Doniphan West made the state tournament last season but were unable to get out of the pool play round as they finished with a record of 27-15. Rossville, representing the Big East, finished 22-18 last season and lost to the state champs in Maranatha in the Sub-State title match.
The Twin Valley League is loaded once again going into 2025 with four teams ranked across D1 and D2 in Class 1A.
In D1, Centralia will begin the season ranked #2 behind only Little River while Clifton-Clyde will start the season ranked #3. The Panthers finished last season 37-8 losing to Little River in straight sets in the State Title match. The Eagles went 26-17 and were ousted in the state tournament semifinals last season to Centralia.
In D2, Hanover will start the season ranked #1 while Linn is in ranked #9. All Hanover did last season was go 41-1 while capturing the state championship while Linn won 24 matches last season, making the state tournament, unable to make it out of the pool play round.
