Listed below are area teams that have qualified for the state baseball tournaments.
2-1A in Great Bend: Rossville Bulldogs
Regional Tournament - W 16-0 vs. Wabaunsee, W 7-3 vs. Mission Valley, W 10-1 vs. Frankfort
Rossville is back in the state tournament for the first time in six years. Sophomore Cael Horgan started for Rossville in the title game against Frankfort and gave up just one run with eight strikeouts.
Canann Mitchell has powered the Rossville offense with a .422 batting average with four home runs and 28 RBI's.
Rossville will enter the 2025 state tournament with an overall record of 18-7.
2-1A in Great Bend: Valley Falls Dragons
Regional Tournament - W 9-2 vs. McLouth, W 7-0 vs. Jefferson County North, W 4-1 vs. Doniphan West.
The Dragons went 18-0 in NEKL play to capture the league title and there four losses were against 3A schools with Jefferson West (x2), Silver Lake, and Hiawatha.
Valley Falls have made the state tournament four times in the last five seasons as they look to land their first state championship.
3A in Manhattan: Sabetha Bluejays
Regional Tournament - W 14-1 vs. ACCHS, W 7-4 vs. Nemaha Central, W 15-5 vs. Marysville.
The Bluejays certainly had some ups and downs throughout the course of the season and went 13-7 to finish tied for fourth place in the difficult Big East League.
Sabetha has made the state tournament for the fourth year in a row and the three previous trips have ended with tight first round losses.
The Bluejays have won 7 of their last 9 games and will enter the state tournament with an overall record of 16-12.
3A in Manhattan: Silver Lake Eagles
Regional Tournament - W 11-1 vs. Peabody-Burns, W 7-1 vs. Riley County, W 3-0 vs. Council Grove.
The Eagles were the two-seed in the regional tournament and defeated the one-seed Braves in the title game.
Logan Cathcart started on the mound in the title game vs. Council Grove and pitched all seven innings allowing no runs on three hits with six strikeouts.
The Eagles went 15-5 in Big East League play, they've won 11 of their last 12 games, and will enter state with an overall record of 21-7.
3A in Manhattan: Jefferson West Tigers
Regional Tournament - W 3-0 vs. Wellsville, W 6-5 (12 inn) vs. Heritage Christian, W 12-2 vs. Perry-Lecompton
The Tigers have had an incredible season as they won the first ever Big East title going 18-2 in league play. Losing only to Nemaha Central and Sabetha.
They started the season by winning their first 17 games before suffering that first loss against the Bluejays.
The Tigers are 26-2 overall and are back in the state tournament for the first time since 2017.
