The Jefferson West baseball team used a seven run fifth inning on Monday afternoon to rally past Hiawatha in game one of their doubleheader 10-4.
Andrew Beilman got the Tigers on the board in the first inning with an RBI double with two outs.
Hiawatha took their first and only lead of the game in the bottom of the fourth as they plated three runs with an RBI double from Lucas Lancaster and an RBI single from Rhen Hageman.
The next half inning, the Tigers put the game away with seven runs scoring all of them with two outs. The two out rally started with a triple by Corbin Mayer which was followed by four straight walks and then three straight hits.
Brady Skahan drove in a run with a single, Tucker Holthaus drove in two with a single, and Max Tuck drove in two with a single.
Jeff West would add two more insurance runs in the sixth inning thanks to RBI singles from Skahan and Cooper Watkins.
Mayer reached base four times and scored three runs, Skahan finished with three hits and two RBI's, and Watkins reached base twice and scored two runs.
Jefferson West would go on to sweep the doubleheader by defeating the Redhawks in game two by a final score of 6-4.
