Boys 3A Semifinal in Hutchinson: Goodland 66, Silver Lake 60

Silver Lake's bid to join the girls squad in the State Championship game came up short in a fourth quarter that was controlled by Goodland.

Both teams struggled to find buckets in the first half as Goodland led 11-10 after the first quarter and 22-21 at halftime.

The offenses picked up with the Eagles outscoring the Cowboys 21-17 in the third quarter and would lead the game 42-39 going into the fourth quarter.

Goodland would power up a 12-0 run in the fourth quarter to build their largest lead of the game at seven with under five minutes left.

The Eagles continued to try and chip away the best they could but the Cowboys hit 10-of-12 free throws in the fourth quarter to help secure the win to advance to their second straight State Championship game.

Silver Lake will face top-seed Galena in the third place game in Hutchinson on Saturday at 2:00 PM with the broadcast available on 96.9 KOZA.
