Doniphan County Post 55 survived a late push from Atchison Post 6 on Wednesday night to win their American Legion matchup by a final score of 10-9. 

It was all Doniphan County through the first three innings as they led the game 6-0. Atchison would get right back in the game with five runs in the fourth inning taking advantage of three DC errors in the inning. 

Doniphan County responded right back in the home fourth with three runs including a solo home run by Beckam Griffin and an RBI double by Logan Blevins. 

DC added an insurance run in the bottom of the sixth and led 10-6 going into the final inning but Atchison didn't go away quietly. 

Atchison got the line moving and had three hits and took advantage of a couple of errors and put up three runs to get within one run. 

With two on and two out, Matthew Spencer grounded out to second base where Blevins made a nice play to end the game and preserve the win for Doniphan County. 

Doniphan County's Brendyn Demming was the McDonald's of Hiawatha and Seneca Player of the Game. Demming pitched into the fourth inning and piled up eight strikeouts while reaching base twice including a two RBI single in the third inning.
