Nider's Even Par Front Nine Helps Onaga Win Frankfort Invitational

The Onaga boys golf team took home first place at the Frankfort Invitational which was held at the Buffaloes’ home golf course, Cool Springs Golf Course in Onaga.

They got an impressive team score of 337, which was 28 strokes better than second-place Centralia with a score of 365. Hanover placed third with a score of 415, Frankfort finished fourth with a 422 and Holton finished fifth with a 452.

Onaga senior Konnor Nider placed first individually with a score of 76. He shot an even-par 36 on the front nine, including a birdie on number two which is a 273-yard par four. Nider would go on to shoot a four-over 40 on the back nine to secure the win. He won the tournament by three strokes over his teammate, sophomore Graham Valburg.

Three-time state tournament participant Paxton Bowers from Centralia placed third with an 82, Valley Heights junior Jayden DeWalt placed fourth with an 84, and sophomore Joshua Daniels from Onaga and Valley Heights sophomore Brady DeWalt tied for fifth place with an 87.
