The Centralia softball team rallied on Thursday to defeat Jackson Heights in Wetmore by a final score of 5-3.
The Cobras led 3-0 after four innings but the Panthers got a couple of runs back and trailed 3-2 going into the seventh inning. Centralia's first batter in the seventh inning tied the game at 3-3 as Oen Deters hit an inside-the-park home run. The Panthers kept the line moving and got RBI hits from both Tava Gibbs and Josie Haverkamp.
Jackson Heights would get two runners on in the bottom of the seventh but were unable to get anything across. The Cobras got RBI's in the game from both Makinley Mulroy and Taylor Bosley.
Both starting pitchers struck out eight batters with Layla Cochran of Jackson Heights and Tessa Parthemer of Frankfort both going the distance.
