The Frankfort girls are returning to the Class 1A-I State Tournament in Colby. The Wildcats won the Rock Hills Sub-State defeating Clifton-Clyde 46-41 in the Sub-State Title game on Saturday. They also picked up a win over Washington County in the semifinals 61-23.

Last season, they got out to the State Tournament and would finish in third-place defeating Norwich in the Consolation Final 49-23.

They lost to Quinter by four points and were very close to making it to the State Championship game.

The expectations were high going into 23-24 with a majority of the roster coming back after last year’s performance.

The Wildcats will enter the State Tournament out in Colby with a record 20-3 and have earned the #6 seed. They will face #3-seed (22-1) St. John-Hudson in the first round on Thursday, March 7th at 8:00 PM.

Head Coach Brian Ebert: “The team has been invested in getting back to the State Tourney. Our community always brings great crowds. The confidence and motivation come even easier when you feel loved and supported by the fans.”

“I think they’re pretty excited to make the trip to Colby.”

Ebert acknowledges the postseason play from Breleigh Ebert, Emma Hardwick, Sydney Wapp, Lexi Dalinghaus, and Hattie Gross that were a big key on both ends of the floor which helped them get back to the State Tournament.

KMZA 92.1 FM will be carrying all Frankfort games from Colby.
