KWCA's Newest Rankings Features Multitude of Area Athletes

The Kansas Wrestling Coaches Association has released its latest rankings with a lot of Kanzaland area teams and athletes being recognized.

Oskaloosa junior Holly Thacher is ranked sixth in the girls Class 4-1A 115-pound weight class. She is also ranked number eight in the all-class rankings.

McLouth senior Leighanna Patz is in the rankings at number four in the 135-pound class. Patz is also ranked number nine in the all-class rankings.

In the 145-pound weight class, Ella Johnson comes into the week ranked third. Johnson is also ranked number eight in the all-class rankings.

ACCHS senior Hannah Simmers is ranked number six in the 170-pound weight class.

In the boys Class 4A rankings, Holton senior Cale Hein checks in at number five in the 144-pound weight class. He was also our featured Athlete of the Week this week after picking up his 100th career win.

Marysville’s Gable Fredrickson is number six in the state in the 150-pound class.

Holton senior Dalton Roush is ranked number two in the latest rankings in the 215-pound weight class. He is also ranked number ten in the all-class rankings.

In the 3-2-1A boys rankings, ACCHS is ranked number three as a team. Sabetha is ranked eighth in the state, and Nemaha Central is ninth.

Nemaha Central freshman Harry Langill is ranked number five in the state in the 106-pound weight class. His teammate, senior Keaton Rottinghaus, is ranked number four in the 113-pound class.

Maur Hill-Mount Academy sophomore Jaxson Vice is ranked number six in the 120-pound class.

ACCHS senior Adler Koontz is the first Tiger to be recognized as he checks in at number four in the 126-pound class.

In the 132-pound class, Sabetha senior Cullen Wikle is ranked number six.

Another ACCHS senior, Austin Smith, is ranked number four in the 138-pound weight class. ACCHS junior Kannon Crossland is ranked sixth in the 144-pound class. Tiger sophomore Max Bottorff also makes the rankings in the 150-pound class currently ranked number five. Three spots ahead of him is Sabetha senior Colin Menold at number two. The Bluejay is also ranked number eight in the all-class rankings.

In the 157-pound weight class, ACCHS junior Easton Schletzbaum is the number one-ranked wrestler in the entire classification. He is also ranked number three across all classifications in the KWCA’s all-class rankings.

Abram Keim, a junior from Nemaha Central, is ranked number five in the 165-pound class.

The final ACCHS wrestler currently ranked is senior Vincent Webb, who comes in at number six in the 215-pound weight class.

In the heavyweight class, Sabetha senior Joshua Grimm is ranked fifth, and Nemaha Central senior Holden Bass is ranked sixth.
