KANSAS CITY, Kan. (AP) - Sporting Kansas City has loaned Kei Kamara to Norwich FC in a deal that will keep the forward with the English Premier League club through at least May 6.
Wednesday's deal is pending Kamara's authorization for a work permit.
Kamara had 11 goals and seven assists in 35 games for Sporting KC last season, helping the MLS club win the regular-season Eastern Conference title. He has 30 goals the past three seasons.
If Norwich City chooses not to acquire Kamara on a full transfer by May 6, he will rejoin Sporting KC and be available to play immediately.
Sporting KC will receive two-thirds of the loan fee to use as allocation money. As part of the agreement, Kamara's contract with the MLS has also been extended.
