Week six of the high school football season was supposed to feature one of the best matchups throughout Northeast Kansas with Nemaha Central hosting Maur Hill-Mount Academy in what was likely to determine a district title, but Wednesday the Ravens were shut down and forced to quarantine leaving the Thunder without a game.

So, Thursday afternoon Nemaha Head Coach Warren Seitz went to Twitter and found that Baldwin was looking for a game and after a few phone calls the Bulldogs agreed to come to Seneca and give the Thunder the homecoming game they were in trouble of missing.

Friday night Baldwin was greeted to an onslaught from the start and despite the Thunder moving up a classification to play the game, Nemaha Central dominated in a 33-0 victory.

The game quickly turned into the Zac Kramer show as the junior quarterback got the Thunder on the board five minutes in on a 51-yard run before scoring two more times before halftime giving Nemaha Central a 21-0 lead at the break.

Kramer threw a 31-yard touchdown pass to Cooper Hajek before connecting with Tyler Gerety on the final play of the second quarter on a 10-yard strike giving the Thunder the three touchdown advantage at the half.

Not only did Kramer shine but so did the Thunder defense allowing just 41 total yards to Baldwin through the first two quarters.

The dominance continued in the second half with Kramer running in another touchdown and throwing one to Blake Stallbaumer to finish off the onslaught.

Kramer finished the game with 200 passing yards and three touchdowns while rushing for 98 yards and two more scores earning him our “Player to Bank On” honors on 92.1 KMZA.

The Thunder blocked three punts in the game with two of them coming from Gage Palic while Nathan Deters dominated on the defense front.

Nemaha Central is now 4-2 overall and will have a key district game next week on the road at Riverside while Baldwin dropped to 0-4.
