2019 AA Zone Tournament at Sabetha - Bracket

Postseason legion baseball got underway Monday night with the AA Zone Tournament at Sabetha opening round games and despite the weather it was Silver Lake and Seneca each picking up wins as Silver Lake beat Hiawatha 15-3 and Seneca took down Corning 10-7.

In Silver Lake’s win over Hiawatha they used a six run fifth inning to take complete control after scoring four runs in the fourth and three in the third.

Joe McIntyre was named our McDonald’s Player of the Game on 103.9 KNZA, as he was 2-for-4 with a single, double, six RBI’s and two runs scored.

In the loss Hiawatha got a solid performance from Cody White, as he finished the game 2-for-2 with two singles, two runs scored and a stolen base.

In game two last night Seneca was able to overcome a 7-3 deficit by scoring seven runs in the fifth inning to move to the winner’s bracket with a 10-7 win over Corning.

Corning built their 7-3 lead with a 4-run fourth inning on four hits, with the biggest coming on a 2-RBI single from Kamble Haverkamp.

Seneca responded though with their 7-run fifth on six hits with Noe Gauna and Zac Kramer each picking up 2 RBI’s in the inning on hits.

Kramer was named our Player of the Game on KNZA after being on base four times with two walks and three RBI’s, while Noe Gauna was 3-for-5 with three singles, two RBI’s and two runs scored.

With Silver Lake’s win over Hiawatha they now advance to take on Marysville Tuesday night at 6:00 in Sabetha, while Seneca advances to take on Sabetha Tuesday night around 8:00 in a game that will be broadcast live on 103.9 KNZA.
