On a frigid cold night in Southern Kansas, we saw a matchup between 2 different styles of teams as Sabetha would meetup with Parsons Friday night. The Bluejays would take their 10-0 record into the game looking to go 11-0 and move onto Sub-State next week. Parsons however was looking to be the first team to pull the upset and try to move onto Sub-State themselves. Senior Bluejay Runningback Joe Gruber had other plans for the Parsons Vikings though as Gruber would have an outstanding night for the Bluejays.

Sabetha would start the game on offense as it would take 9 plays, before Gabe Garber would take it in from 1 yard out for the score, 7-0. Parsons first drive would take 10 plays as Dariq Williams would haul in a 30 yard touchdown pass from Gage Friess, however the extra point was blocked, 7-6. Sabetha would fumble the ball on their 2nd drive as Parsons would recover. However Parsons would have to punt after going 3 and out.

Joe Gruber would get his big night started as he would break away for a 27 yard touchdown run, 14-6. Parsons would then fumble the ball away on their 3rd drive of the game. That would allow Joe Gruber to once again find the endzone this time on a 21 yard touchdown run, 20-6. Gabe Garber would then find the endzone on a 5 yard touchdown run, 28-6. On Sabetha's 6th drive of the game, Joe Gruber would take it 28 yards to the endzone for his 3rd score of the night, 35-6.

Garber would also have his 3rd score running the football as he would scamper away for a 44 yard touchdown run, 42-6. just before half-time Daqoun Johnson would haul in a 3 yard touchdown pass to make the halftime score, 42-12. After the halftime break Braeden Cox would get the interception for his 3rd Pick-6 of the season, 48-12. Ryan Stapleton would haul in a 22 yard touchdown catch from Gabe Garber, 55-12. Tristan Edelman would also run in a 21 yard touchdown, 62-12. Parsons would get the last score of the game as Anthony Pousher would haul in a 84 yard touchdown catch, 62-18.

Parsons would end the night with 296 total yards. Gage Friess would lead the way with 189 yards passing and 3 touchdowns throwing the football and 2 interceptions on the night. Friess would also have 74 uards rushing.

Sabetha would end the night with 495 total yards in the ball game. Senior Joe Gruber would lead the way with 203 yards and 3 touchdowns on the ground. Gabe Garber would also carry the football 8 times for 91 yards and 3 touchdowns on the ground. Garber would also go 2 of 3 throwing for 55 yards and one of those being a 22 yard touchdown pass to Senior Ryan Stapleton. Tristan Edelman also had 67 yards rushing and 1 touchdown as well.

Parsons ends their season with an 8-3 record. Sabetha however improves to 11-0 on the season and will meetup with Galena who is coming off a double overtime win at Marysville 42-36. Both Galena and Sabetha are 11-0 and will meetup in Sabetha next Friday for a Sub-State battle of unbeatens both looking to punch their own ticket to the 3A State Championship Game.
