On a night when scoring was scarce, Marysville came out on top against the Holton Wildcats on Friday night 6-0. Each team turned it over one time and neither could capitalize as both defenses showed a bend but don't break mentality. Holton had the football inside the Marysville 25 yards line 3 different times but were unable to cross the Bulldog goal line, turning it over on downs twice and once fumbling. While Marysville turned the ball over on downs twice inside the Holton 10 yard line.

Holton and Marysville each were unable to get over the century mark at the halftime break as they were tied at 0-0 with Holton having 83 total yards to Marysville's 89 yards.

Following a brief warmup in the halftime locker room, Coach Dustin Heuer of the Bulldogs made a change that would prove to be the difference in the game, by replacing JR QB Brandon Schroedl with JR backup QB Storm Slupianik . Slupianik seemed to bring a revitalized running attack to start the second half and helped the Bulldogs go 73 yards on just 7 plays capped with an Atreyu Hornbeak 19 yard touchdown run. The 2pt conversion would fail and Marysville would put the only points on the board.

Holton had numerous opportunites in the 2nd half to equal the score or even take the lead, but to no avail. The Wildcats have now been shut out 3 times in 2018.
