The high school softball season in Northeast Kansas featured several strong years for many teams including a pair of teams making the State tournament and finishing in the top four in the State in their Class. Fourteen area softball players earned All-State honors from the Kansas Softball Coaches Association for their performances this season.
In Class 4A-Division II the Holton Wildcats finished the season with a fourth place finish at State posting a 21-4 record and won the Big Seven League. A quartet of Wildcats got the nod for All-State honors with Bailey Flewelling leading the charge as she picked up first team All-State honors at infield. Sarah Bond, Annalyss Phillips and Jewel Lutz each earned second team All-State for Holton picking up the honors at pitcher, catcher and outfield, respectively.
Eight area athletes earned All-State honors in Class 3A and leading the way was the Oskaloosa Bears who finished the season 22-4 and State Runner-up, while also winning the Northeast Kansas League. Brylie Bassett and Sophia Rockhold each earned first team All-State honors at pitcher and catcher, while second team honors went to Paige Lowe at infield. Mclouth Bulldogs finished 18-4 on the season and had Kimi Patterson and Jennica Messer earn first and second team All-State honors at infield and catcher, respectively.
Perry Lecompton Kaws posted a 19-4 record on the season and had a duo pick up second team All-State honors as Megan Fast and Graci Folks earned the honors at pitcher and outfield. Royal Valley Panther, McKenzie Ogden also earned second team All-State honors at infield after helping the Panthers finish 14-7 on the season.
The Valley Falls Dragons had a pair of athletes earn All-State honors in Class 2-1A after a 16-7 season. Allison Kearney earned first team All-State at infield, while Reagan Kirkwood picked up second team honors at utility/DP.
