The annual 8-Man football All-Star games took place in Beloit over the week and the action was dominated by the Division I and II East teams which featured multiple Twin Valley League athletes.
The Division II saw the West score first going up 6-0 early with the East answered with 50 straight points to ultimately lay claim to a 50-12 victory. Hanover Wildcat, Kevin Diederich hauled in a 21-yard touchdown pass from East's Davante Hammer of Pike Valley in the second quarter and helped the East lead 22-6 at intermission. In the third quarter Hammer hit another Hanover Wildcat this time connecting with Brennan Zabokrstky and the East continue with multiple big plays to cruise to the 50-12 win. The DII East now leads the all-time series in the All-Star game 11-7 over the West.
Axtell Eagle, Michael Swanson and Linn Bulldogs, Tanner Spence and Evan Bott also represented the TVL in the DII 8-Man All-Star game competing on the winning East team.
In the DI contest it was all East as the East All-Star cruised to a 58-6 route of the West All-Star's. East scored early and often working to a 38-0 lead by halftime and the West didn't get on the board in the game until the first drive of the second half which would be their only score of the game. The win moves the East to within two games in the series standings as the West still leads the series 10-8 in the DI All-Star game.
Onaga Buffalo, Tanner Marten and Clifton-Clyde Eagle, Elias Girard both suited up for the DI East team and helped guide their team to the win.
