Clifton-Clyde Girls & Boys Each Take Second at Thompson Relays at Lincoln

Clifton-Clyde Eagles track teams flew high in their performances at the Thompson Relays at Lincoln as the boys and girls teams each snagged second place finishes at the competition. 

A first place finish in the boy’s competition led Clifton-Clyde on the day as the Eagles saw Elias Girard win the triple jump with a leap of 41'05.50 and also took fifth in the long jump. Bradley Douglas put together three top notch performances taking second in the 100 meter dash, while placing third in the 200 meter dash and long jump. Zach Sorell raced to second in the boys 800 meter run and also third in the 400 meter dash, while Christian Seifert placed second in the 300 meter hurdles and third in the 110 meter hurdles. 

Jacob Stenberg added two Top five finishes for the Eagle boys as he placed second in the pole vault and fifth in the 300 meter hurdles, while Nathan Ohlde took fourth in the discus and fifth place in the 100 meter dash. It was a pair of fourth place finishes for Drake Steinbrock at Lincoln as he registered those performances in the long jump and shot put. Also on the track the 4x110 yard relay team took second, while Aiden Rudolph and Isiah Pierce placed fifth in the 400 meter dash and 110 meter hurdles, respectively. The field events also saw Wyatt Cyr earn the silver in the high jump, Bradley Koch take the bronze in the discus and Gavin Cyr place fourth in the javelin. 

Multiple second place finishes led the Clifton-Clyde girls at the Thompson Relays. Emily Coffman registered second place finishes in both the high jump and javelin, while Kiara Knox took second in the triple jump and Maycee Callihan earned the silver in the discus. The 4x110 yard relay team also earned a second place finish. Knox added a third place finish in the javelin, while Callihan also placed third in the shot put.

A few other lady Eagles had multiple Top five finishes on Friday at the Thompson Relays. Payton Girard placed fourth in the pole vault and fifth in the 100 meter hurdles, while Mallory Callihan notched a third place finish in the discus and fourth in the shot put. Other top performances for the Clifton-Clyde girls on the track came by Alyssa Brown who took fourth in the two-mile and Adria Girard who placed third in the 100 meter hurdles. In the field events 
Riley Knox and Brianna Affolter each earned a third place finish coming in the pole vault and long jump, respectively, while Julia Douglas took fourth in the javelin. 

Clifton-Clyde continues the track season at the Twin Valley League meet on Thursday, May 10th.
