Perry Lecompton, Mclouth & Pleasant Ridge Compete at Eudora Track Meet

A trio of Northeast Kansas area schools kept their track seasons rolling on Thursday by competing in the Cardinal Relays at Eudora as Perry Lecompton, Pleasant Ridge and Mclouth were all in action. 

Perry Lecompton girls earned fourth place as a team, while the boys notched a 6th place finish out of 12 teams in competition. Three first place finishes led the Kaws in the action as Morgen Coyle won the girls javelin with a toss of 103'02, while Haley Kellum won the girls triple jump behind a leap of 33'06 and on the boys side of competition Caden Dean won the long jump with a leap of 20'04. Dean added a fifth place finish in the 200 meter dash. 

The lady Kaws had plenty of strong performances like Cali Coleman who took second in the long jump and 100 meter dash and finished third in the 200 meter dash. Also on the track Rylee Paramore earned third in the 300 meter hurdles, while the 4x800 meter relay team earned the bronze. In the field events Mykiah McDaniel placed second in the girls discus and Gabbie Gonzalez took fifth in the girls pole vault. The Perry Lecompton boys nabbed second place in the 4x800 meter relay, while taking third in the 4x100 and 4x400 meter relays. Jessye Schumann posted a fourth place finish in the 800 meter run, while Ike Dwyer took fourth in the pole vault and Spencer Funk placed fifth in the javelin. 

The Pleasant Ridge boys earned a fifth place team finish on the day, while the girls took eighth place as a team. Leading the way for the Rams was Emma Schwinn who won the girls 100 and 300 meter hurdles with times of 17.18 and 50.70. Lady Rams also had three other Top five finishes all coming in field events as Layna Jackson and Hanna Forge placed fourth in the long jump and triple jump, respectively and Deni Wagner tied for fifth in the high jump. Pleasant Ridge boys were led by Gylnn Smith who won the triple jump with a leap of 41'00 and took second in the long jump, while Luke Oatney placed second in the 800 meter run and third in the 1600 meter run. Colton Comer who took second in the javelin, while Keaton Comer placed fourth in both the high jump and triple jump and Devin Culbertson finished fourth in the shot put. 

Both the Mclouth girls and boys finished tenth as teams but each had multiple Top five finishes on the day at the Eudora Invite. A silver was earned in the girls javelin by Justina Williams for Mclouth, while Sarah Dailey took third in the shot put and fifth in the discus. Baylee Wolfe added a fifth place finish in the 3200 meter run for the lady Bulldogs. For the boys Jonah Willits took third in the 400 meter dash and fifth in the 100 meter dash, while Garrison Pope notched a fourth place finish in the 400 meter dash.
