Pleasant Ridge Cross Country Invite Resuls (10-7-17) - click here

Saturated from the rain the course at the Pleasant Ridge cross country Invitational was just another thing the runners had to work through as they competed against each other on Saturday.

While the top team spots belonged to non-area teams at the meet the top individual spots were earned by area runners from the Northeast Kansas League.

In the boys race Luke Oatney of the host Pleasant Ridge ran to the best time winning by 41 seconds with a time of 16:58. His teammates Dayton Flack and Garrett Silvers also notched Top 10 finishes placing sixth (18:18) and tenth (18:29), respectively.

The girl’s race featured Mclouth Bulldog Baylee Wolfe taking home first place posting a time of 21:18 to win by 18 seconds. Ceara Funk also notched a Top 20 finish in the girls race for Mclouth placing 17th, while in the boys competition both August Forsberg and Justin Shufflebarger placed 19th and 20th.

A third place finish by Ayden Black in the boy’s race with a time of 17:41 led the Maur Hill-Mount Academy Ravens.

For Jefferson County North a fourth place finish by Trevor Pentlin in the boy’s competition with a time of 18:10 was the top performance, while Rose Wendling placed 20th in the girl’s race.

Perry Lecompton had a trio of girls place in the Top 20 as Jolie Hirsch, Blaise Ball and Kassidy Schumann earned 16th, 18th and 19th place finishes.

Valley Falls also had competitors in action and while the Dragons did not have any Top 20 finishes, Noah Hefty had their best showing finishing just outside the Top 20 with a 21st place finish.
