Royal Valley Wrestling Takes Fourth at Seaman Duals

The Royal Valley Panthers fresh off their home quad earlier in the week hit the mats again on Saturday and took on some tough competition at the Seaman Duals in Topeka, coming out with a fourth place team finish of the six teams competing. 

Panthers started the day squaring off with the host of the tournament in Seaman and fell in the dual 47-27 in the first round of action. In round two it was a tighter bout for Royal Valley Panthers but they fell 39-30 to Blue Valley. Round three saw the Panthers get on the board with a win beating Hays 54-24 and then followed that up in round four by just edging Lansing 39-36 for the dual win. Finishing out the day Royal Valley took on KC Turner and fell 50-24 to finish 2-3 in duals and take fourth place as a team. 

The performance of Lance Bailey (120lbs) led the Panthers on the day as he was 4-1 on the mats in the duals picking up three pinfall wins in 3:00, 1:33 and 4:28, while also winning by a 3-1 decision. Both Noah Hart (152lbs) and Jacob Box (182lbs) went 3-1 in matches wrestled for Royal Valley on Saturday. Hart earned his three wins by 5-2 and 10-3 decisions and a 53 second pinfall win, while Box had two pinfall wins in 5:20 and 3:01 and also won a match by a 5-0 decision. 

Four more Panthers won at least two matches at the Seaman Duals as Dalton Ware (106lbs), Brett House (132lbs), Zack Lux (145lbs) and Charles Todd (285lbs) each picked up a pair of wins. Ware and Lux each finished 2-3, while Todd was 2-1 and House 2-2 in action. 

Caleb Burnworth (138lbs), Karsen Smith (160lbs) and Blake Garrison (195lbs) each got in the win column once for Royal Valley at the Seaman Duals. 

The wrestling season continues for Royal Valley on Thursday, January 14th as they travel to Silver Lake for a double dual.
