The Benedictine Ravens opened up the 2015 football season with a 24-14 win over Evangel University Saturday afternoon in Wilcox Stadium.
The defense forced 3 first quarter interceptions and Dre Graves returned one for an 80 yard touchdown for the Ravens first points of the season. Teammates Kenny Barrow and Burl Brisbane accounted for the other 2 interceptions as BC added a TD from Diego Garcia and a Derek Rogers field goal taking a 17-0 lead into halftime. The Ravens lone second half score came on a 18 yard pass from Jacob Koester to Derek Rodgers. The Ravens were led in rushing by Tyler Henness who had 19 carries for 85 yards as BC rolled up 403 yards of offense.
Benedictine (1-0, 1-0) will travel to Kansas City next Saturday to meet Avila University. Kickoff will be at 1:00 with the KAIR 93.7 broadcast beginning with the Pre-Game show at 12:30 live from Zarda Field.
