Southeast Nebraska Basketball Teams Rated

The Lincoln Journal Star and Omaha World Herald continue to have a number of area teams ranked in high school basketball.

The highest ranked team is the Falls City Sacred Heart girls.  At 17-2 the Irish are ranked number one by both papers.  

Exeter-Milligan a team in the same District as the Irish is ranked 8th and 10th this week.  

Two possible opponents for the Irish in the Pioneer Conference Tournament this week are ranked in Class D1.  Sterling is ranked 5th in the Lincoln paper but not ranked in the World Herald.  Friend is ranked 9th in both papers.  

In C-2 girls ratings Freeman is ranked 4th in both papers with Yutan 5th in both polls.  They are the top two seeds in this weeks East Central Nebraska Conference Tournament.  Elmwood-Murdock another ECNC team is raked 9th and 10th. 

In the boys ratings Falls City Sacred Heart is ranked third in Class D2 by both papers.  Exeter-Milligan is ranked 4th & 6th and could play against the Irish in District action.  

The Falls City Tigers are ranked 5th in the Lincoln paper and 7th in the World Herald in Class C-1. The Tigers are 16-1.  The Tigers have a huge weekend.  Falls City will travel to Seward Friday to play the Class B 3rd and 4th ranked Bluejays and on Saturday return home to take on Crete, a team ranked 10th in the Omaha paper in Class B.  The Falls City game at Seward will air on A-M 1230, KTNC Friday night.  

Freeman is ranked 4th and 5th in Class C2 with Palmyra 10th in the Journal Star.  

In D1 Lourdes Central Catholic of Nebraska City is ranked 6th and 7th. Bruning-Davenport-Shickley is ranked 4th and 5th and Mead is in the ratings at #10 in the Lincoln Journal Star.
