Nebraska football will give Husker fans an opportunity to get a glimpse inside the program as it presents Football 202 next month. Football 202 will take place on Saturday, Aug. 17, and will give fans the opportunity to get a preview of the 2013 Huskers just two weeks before the season opener.

The one-day session includes the opportunity to hear from the Nebraska coaching staff and former members of the Husker coaching staff. Participants in Football 202 will get a chance to tour the new East Stadium Expansion and will be able to watch the Huskers practice as they prepare for the 2013 season.

The first speaker session of the day will include former Husker assistant coaches George Darlington and Milt Tenopir. The two combined for 59 seasons on the Nebraska football staff and were on the staff of Husker teams that won three national championships and 15 conference titles.

Football 202 participants will spend the latter half of the morning watching the Huskers go through a workout just two weeks prior to the 2013 season opener against Wyoming on Aug. 31.

Following practice and lunch, the afternoon will begin with a tour of the expanded East Stadium. Following the addition of approximately 6,000 new seats, Nebraska’s average attendance will surpass 90,000 for the 2013 season. The afternoon will include two additional panels of speakers, including the current Husker coaching staff.

Other speakers during the day will include Auburn native,  Chris Kelsay, a former Husker defensive end who recently retired after 10 seasons with NFL’s Buffalo Bills. Kelsay will give insight into life as a player at both the collegiate and professional levels. Former Husker quarterback Clete Blakeman will share some of his experiences as a referee in the National Football League.

The day’s events will conclude with a social at the Champions Club, just across the street from Memorial Stadium. The cost of $249 also includes coffee and rolls in the morning, lunch and food at the evening social, in addition to a Husker polo. Registration and a preliminary schedule for the event is available at www.bigredfootballschool.com under the Football 202 tab.
