Kansas Legion Baseball Zone Brackets Set for Area Teams

With the Legion baseball regular season close on the horizon teams will turn their attention to postseason play action.

For the NEK League teams the four "AA" teams will play in Zone 1 at "AA" level, while the lone "AAA" NEK League team Atchsion will play in the "AAA" level. Other area teams in Marysville, Frankfort and Linn will play in the same Zone together in "AA" level with Marysville hosting. Zone tournaments are scheduled to start the week of July 21st and are double elimination.

Sabetha will host Zone 1 with Doniphan County, Hiawatha and Seneca particapating in the Zone for a chance to make a trip to Pratt for the state tournament this year. Holton was scheduled to be in this Zone but will not be fielding a team for the reminder of the season. Monday July 22nd, Hiawatha will play Seneca at 6:00pm and Doniphan County will play Sabetha at 8:00pm to open up the Zone 1 tournament at Somerset Park. (Bracket -- click here)

Marysville will be hosting the Zone 5 "AA" tournament with other area teams in Linn and Frankfort participating and Concordia, also. Action will start in this Zone on Sunday in Marysville with Concordia versus Linn at 4:30pm and the Marysville versus Frankfort game to follow 30 minutes after conclusion of that game. In the "AAA" level Atchison will play their Zone tournament in Leavenworth against a pair of Leavenworth teams in Diamond Jaxx (host), Gieger Ready Mix and Manhattan. Atchison starts their postseason action on Monday July 22nd when they play Manko (Manhattan) at 6:00pm. (Both Leavenworth teams will play each other in other game to follow the first game). Win or loss, Atchison will play again on Tuesday night either in an elimination game at 6:00pm or winner's game after that. (Bracket -- click here)
