The Peru State softball team split a doubleheader with Benedictine College Saturday in Peru.
The ‘Cats took the first game, 2-1, and Benedictine won game two, 4-2.
Abbie Moser drove in Kristen Bodyk on a 5th inning groundout for the winning run in the first game. Lauren Johnson pitched a complete game for the victory.
Peru State is scheduled to play doubleheaders today (Monday) and Tuesday – at Nebraska Wesleyan today and at Bellevue University Tuesday afternoon. The ‘Cats wrap up regular season conference play this weekend with games Friday against Missouri Valley College and Saturday against Mid-America Nazarene.
Peru State is 12-22 on the year and 7-7 in the Heart of America Athletic Conference, good for 5th place in the 10-team league.
