Sarah Jaloma
|
Out running her opponents to the tune of a pair of first place finish last week Atchison’s, Sarah Jaloma paced her way to a pair of great wins in cross country action.
Sarah started off the past week looking to challenge Hiawatha’s, Jordan Puvogel once again like she did at the Horton Invite where she finished one second behind her for second place (16:49), this time it was different at the Hiawatha Invite, as Sarah ran to a first place finish. Jaloma and Puvogel stayed close until late in the race when, Sarah took over and pushed her way to the win posting a time of 15:25.50, notching the win by 12 seconds.
The great running for Sarah continued later in the week as she breezed past the competition at the Pleasant Ridge Invite winning by little over 35 seconds behind a time of 16:14.18.
The Lady Red sophomore, as enjoyed great success this year as she continues to improve upon last year, with another highlight this year being a seventh place finish at Rim Rock in the girls competition she competed in.
Last year as a freshman, Sarah finished with All-KCAL honors and took home a 38th place finish at the Class 4A State competition and looks to build upon her recent momentum as she heads into her league meet this week and Regionals the week after.
