Marcus Bauman and Christian McAfee

Marcus Bauman and Christian McAfee were named to the Burlington Invite All-Tournament Team as the Sabetha Bluejays boys basketball team finished runner-up in the tournament.

Bauman averaged 16 points and eight rebounds per game in their three games. He also shot a staggering 71% from beyond the arc. As for McAfee, he averaged 14 points and 13 rebounds while shooting 63% from the field.

Bauman averages 13 points and five boards per game while shooting 43% from deep. McAfee is averaging a double-double this season with 14 points and 10 rebounds per game.

Sabetha was the one-seed and started the tournament with a 53-41 win against eight-seed against Labette County. In the semifinals, they got into a high-scoring affair with Silver Lake in which they were victorious by a final score of 66-64. In the finals, they fell short losing to Rock Creek 57-48. Sabetha enters the second half of their season with a 9-2 overall record and a perfect 6-0 record in Big 7 play.

Sabetha head coach Josh Wertenberger said, "Marcus and Christian have been a big part of our success the last three years. Their experience at the varsity level and team first leadership was valuable against three quality opponents and will continue to help us as we enter the second half of the season."
