Hundley Leads Wildcats Rushing Attack into Sub-State Title Game
Abbott Hundley

Holton’s Abbott Hundley has been on a tear throughout the Wildcats playoff run and it continued in their 3A quarterfinal win against Frontenac.

Against the Raiders, he rushed for 240 yards and two touchdowns on 26 carries, helping Holton reach the state semifinals for a fourth consecutive year.

In the first-round win over Bishop Ward, Abbott rushed for 216 yards and averaged over 10 yards per carry while scoring five offensive touchdowns and adding a sixth on a fumble return for a TD. In the regional win against Wellsville, Abbott rushed for 134 yards on 28 carries.

For the season, Abbott leads the Wildcats with 1,329 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns with five straight games with more than 100+ yards. Abbott was just named First Team All-Big 7 at both running back and LB for this season. This after converting to the running back position after earning League honors as an offensive lineman a season ago.

Wildcats have won four straight to post at least seven wins in a season for 20 of the last 21 years.  They get a rematch of week seven loss and will play at Hayden with a return trip to the 3A State Title game on the line.
