Nemaha Central quarterback Carter Hajek earned another athlete of the week honor after the Thunder’s 2A 53-27 quarterfinal win against Osage City.
Carter finished the game with 242 rushing yards and three touchdowns, 55 passing yards and another score, he added two interceptions on defense including a pick-six and added a 99-yard kick return touchdown.
For the season, Carter has rushed for 1,936 yards and 37 touchdowns while adding 858 passing yards and 10 more scores. Hajek has scored multiple rushing touchdowns in every single game this season. He was the Big 7 League’s First Team quarterback selection for this season.
Defensively he’s tallied 35 total tackles, nine pass breakups, and five interceptions.
The Thunder have won 24 straight games and will host Sabetha in the Sub-State Championship looking to advance back to the Class 2A State Championship game.
