The B&B Falcons offense has been putting up big numbers again this season and after a close loss to open the season they've won four straight and are soaring into district play. The Falcons opened district play last Friday with a 50-12 road win over the Axtell Eagles and senior quarterback, Dustin Rottinghaus was an integral part in the win as usual.
Rottinghaus continued to sling the ball around like it’s going out of style connecting on 12 of his 21 passes in the game for 248 yards and four touchdowns. Dustin added a rushing score and accounted for three two-point conversions in win, also.
While, the offensive performance was there for Dustin against Axtell it was his best defensive game of the season that made it a solid all-around night for the Falcon senior. From his safety position he made a team leading 12 tackles (only has 16 tackles on the season) and grabbed an interception in the matchup, also helping B&B start district play on the right foot with a win.
On the season Rottinghaus has been putting up the numbers and his teammates have been making a multitude of plays around him to help the B&B offense average 49.6 points per game on the season and 55 points per game in the four game winning streak.
Dustin has tossed the ball 97 times on the year, completing 53 passes (54.6% completion %) for 971 yards and 17 touchdowns to his two interceptions. While, adding 150 yards on the ground on 49 carries for 3.06 yards per carry average and scoring six touchdowns.
His defensive and special team’s presence has been felt, too with his 16 tackles, one interception and blocked field goal this year.
For the B&B Falcons it's an emotion filled season as the school will close at the end of the year, but Dustin and his band of brothers on the football field have one frame of mind go out on top and claim another 8-Man Division II State title.
