Eli Broxterman

The Axtell Eagles are one win away from getting back to the 8M-II State Championship game. They won their Sectional round game this past Friday at Osborne 52-6 for their 24th win in a row.

The defending champs trailed 6-0 at the end of the first quarter but outscored Osborne 52-0 the rest of the game.

Eli Broxterman led the Eagles with big numbers on both sides of the ball. Offensively, Eli led the Eagles in rushing with eight carries for 81 yards and a touchdown while leading the team in receiving with seven receptions for 101 yards and two more scores.

Defensively, Eli led the Eagles with 14 tackles including 10 solo tackles with a half tackle for loss and an interception.

In 11 games, Eli has rushed for 322 yards and seven touchdowns while averaging 11 yards per carry. He’s added 441 receiving yards and eight more touchdowns while averaging nearly 15 yards per catch.

Defensively, he leads Axtell with 56 total tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss, and three interceptions including a pick-six.

#1 Axtell will host #2 Canton Galva in the 8M-II Semi-Finals this Friday with a trip to the State Championship game on the line.
