Maurice Hilbert of the Nemaha Central wrestling team is posting a strong season as the Thunder wrestling program is back up and on track.
Hilbert at 170 pounds currently holds a 22-2 record this season and has posted strong finishes as of late.
Hilbert won the Rossville Tournament a couple of weeks ago in what was a loaded field with some of the best wrestlers in the state. Hilbert took down Abe Huaracha of St. Mary’s by pinfall in the first-place match.
He also finished in third place at the Gerald Sadowski tournament in Holton last week. Hilbert defeated Perry Lecompton’s Christian Conklin to claim that third place finish.
His only other loss was at the beginning of the year at the Onaga Tournament.
