Rock Port Bluejay, Eric Duncan Continues to Dominate in Track this Spring
Eric Duncan

For the sixth time in eight meets this year Rock Port Bluejay junior, Eric Duncan took home four gold medals winning the 100 meters and sweeping the jumping competitions with wins in the triple jump, long jump and high jump this time at the district meet.

After taking all four events at the district meet, Duncan continued trend last week with the quadruple gold at sectionals. Eric took to the track to claim the 100 meter dash crown with a time of 11.27 and then took to the field for his three other gold medals. Clearing 6’7 in the high jump he took home the win, then leap to the marks of 21-08 and 42-10.5 for victories in the long jump and triple jump, respectively.

Duncan’s performances alongside his teammate’s performances earned Rock Port the sectional meet and district meet titles. While the Rock Port junior’s performances also earned him a spot at the state meet on May 17th and 18th in Jefferson City.

Making a return trip to state Duncan looks to improve upon his finishes from last year as a sophomore, where he took third in the high jump, seventh in the long jump, fifth in the triple jump and third in the 100 meters. The Bluejay has his sights on flying higher and continuing to better his marks on the track and the field competitions.
